Seet and I recently discovered this new place in Pavilion KL - Snö (SnöShakes), a new way to enjoy 'personalize' ice cream and/or frozen yogurt desserts *slurp slurp* Snö uses specially developed Apple iPad application for customers to place/personalize order(s), very high tech eh!

What I felt impressive was the customers' experience I received from them (a bunch of young and energetic employees), felt so warm and close to my heart. My first visit was on Thursday and we decided to visit again on Friday because (I think they jampi us) we really felt in love with it! Seet and I had this chat while we were walking:
Jess: Do you think they remember us ah?
Seet: Not if they have a lot of customers.
Jess: *silent*
As soon as we were approaching, we were well received with a “Welcome back”! I was quite shocked that true enough, they remember us! Does that mean they do not have a lot of customers? Nah! It’s the customers’ experience that I mentioned earlier. Good job, team!

Welcoming 2011 with open arms and I should be closing my chapter for 2010. To recap 2010, I found a job opportunity in luxury fashion retailer and I don’t see myself fitting in the corporate world. Therefore, I decided to move on from public relations agency.

Life has not been easy. Moving into in-house which means the more of everything - workload (from events, promotions, and advertising to PR) and dynamic, seeing that my company doesn’t outsource and prefer to do everything internally!

My days are filled with stresses, complains and unsatisfactories! There are times it leaves me with no option but just to believe that it’s my destiny. However, there are also good memories since I joined. Apart from the month-to-month in-store customer appreciation cocktail that we hold, there are also a few grand events. Starting with:

It’s alright if you reckon that it’s not attractive, that was my first impression too! However, very unfortunate to say that this is really tasty and healthy. No colouring or preservative is added, unlike those you can easily purchase from hypermarkets. An additional point is given to the “sauce”, which is just a squeeze of fresh lemon juice instead of the typical sticky sour plum sauce.

The moral of the story is - Don't judge a book by its cover!

Lion Dance Blessing

Wikipedia definition:
Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture to perform the traditional custom of "cai ching" (採青), literally means "plucking the greens". The 'lion' is to pluck the auspicious green vegetables like lettuce, called 'cai'(菜)that sound like 'cai'(财)- fortune.

My watch division decided to perform lion dance blessing for the four boutiques in Pavilion - IWC, Rolex, SWG and Vertu in conjuction with Lunar New Year, as it is believed to bring good luck and fortune to the business and the troupe is rewarded with the "red envelope".

Since I'm on leave, I've the full excuse not to attend. However, it's part of my schedule to go back today for the blessing session for all four boutiques. On top of that, to also wish everyone Gong Xi Fatt Chai and most importantly to collect angpaus! Sadly, I didn’t managed to make it for the first two as I overslept.

Some photos I managed to capture using my lousy phone - time to change new phone, ey? My phone literally hung just now when I was trying to answer an incoming call!

Someone suggested to reach earlier because of the long que. I was thinking: "7.30am should be ok lah" . I was there alone and I couldn't believe that the que was extremely long - from ballroom at level 1; down to the staircase; to the lobby; and to the parking entrance behind.

I started queuing since 7.30am and only be able to get in by about 8.30am. It was very crowded and everyone seems to be crazy over every items. I suppose the most popular brand were Bobbie Brown as their makeups are sold out by the time I managed to get in. Some (including me) need to be on standby at the counter to wait for "leftovers". Visitors who were standing behind me were pushing around, hoping to get the makeups that they are eyeing at. Honestly, it was very dangerous because I can fall on the table and it will collapse anytime easily.

Due to the huge crowd, they restricted every visitor to leave the ballroom within an hour. Honestly speaking, who cares? I was one of them who hang around for more than an hour, I think. However, I was not disappointed because I managed to get quite a lot of my desired makeups. But at the same time, I also gonna let go a lot of items because I'm lack of cash.

国际美容展2010

之前小女我呢就忙碌于刚刚呈上辞呈的不是很新公司的工作关系，就MIA了一阵子。刚刚呈上辞呈的不是很新公司是从事展览的，小女的岗位正是公关行政人员。

开工的第一天，小女就得在吉隆坡国际会议中心里的国际美容展当“跑腿”了。美容展一共是四天，从早上十一点到晚上七点。这样算回来，小女一共“跑”了三十二小时 – 还是没得坐下休息叻！

搞展览真的不是一件容易的是。展览场地越大，该头痛的东西也越多。这次的美容展可让我大开眼界哦！东西不但没安排好，到最后还会是很凌乱，大家都开始在慌。救命啊，这不是有七年经验的展览公司吗？！怎么可能七年的经验都不够吗？

虽然如此，但公司还满要“抗头”的。他们应该花费了不少把台湾著名的小曼，小凯及李中源老师带过来办讲座。在开幕典礼的那天，还为他们举办了记者招待会。而林叶婷老师则是代言SHILLS这美容产品。

抱歉，小女不方便拍摄太多照片。一两张还行啦，因为在工作的关系吗。然而即使是在工作的时候，也不忘记要当一名消费者。消费者的图片如下：

You promised to apply for a full day annual leave. However, something came up in the office that forced you to stay and only be able to accompany me on the second half of the day. Disappointed, yes of course, because our plan need to be postponed but I also thank you for all the effort made.

We decided to do our luncheon at Pepper Lunch – a Japanese DIY Teppan restaurant that caught my attention on the first sight. Pepper Lunch is located at Sunway Pyramid, First Floor of the Old Wing (it replaces Genki Sushi, I think).

Chicken Pepper Rice (with additional egg) and Hamburger Steak Rice with Egg were our choices of the day. By topping up RM2.80, we upgraded our main dish to a set meal which includes one main and one drink or soup or ice-cream.

死板板 Seet will always top-up for the same thing which is his drink, in this case it’s Pepsi. Whereas for me, I had Matcha (green tea ice cream) and I’m truly in love with it. It’s as smooth as McD’s ice cream topped with fresh green tea. I would say this is one of the best green tea ice-cream I had. In addition, I also side order another bowl of seaweed soup. Unfortunately this disappoints me, not as expected.

The interesting part is the DIY, more like CIY (cook it yourself). Shake, stir, mix – every Pepper Lunch meal comes with easy instructions on how to unleash every tantalizing flavor. You may also add in specially made sauce that is only available at Pepper Lunch - Garlic Soya Sauce and Honey Brown Sauce. There is also a “How to Sizzle” video looping in-store for better understanding.

Lunch at Pepper Lunch is as easy as 1.2.3.

　　曾经看过一篇文章，写的特别实在，文章名字叫《她现在能给你的，都是我十年前给过你的！》。

　　我正专心的看电视，他突然说：“我们离婚吧”。他很严肃，不像是跟我开玩笑。浮上我脑海的第一个念头是：他肯定抄股亏大了，或者是得了绝症，怕连累我。我坚决的摇头，油然而生一股要跟他共患难的豪情。

　　他的第二句话将我打入地狱：“我爱上别人了，对不起。”

　　“什么时候？”我努力沉住气。

　　“半年了，是旅行认识的，她是导游，很单纯，人又热情。”也许意识到自己赞美的词语用的过多，他刹住了，愧疚的看着我。

　　“有多爱？”“十分爱。”

　　我没有再问下去，问的太细只会让自己伤的更深，不如给自己留点颜面。

　　回忆跟他在一起的日子，我们很幸福。可是，既然人家已经喜新厌旧，我干吗死不放手呢？我长长吐了一口气：“一切就按你的意思办吧。有人能将你这个祸害从我身边领走，我真是感激不尽。”他惊讶的看着我，他知道我并不是一个心胸豁达的女人。

　　“其实我对你也有审美疲劳。”你把我看的轻如鸿毛，就别指望自己还是我心中的泰山。

　　他深感愧疚，决定把家里的一切留给我和孩子。离婚前，他约我一起吃饭，几杯酒下肚，他的话多了起来，他说，他希望得到我的祝福，他还主动说起那个女孩，她朝气蓬勃，跟她在一起，他有被点燃的感觉。想起自己曾经也年轻漂亮，朝气蓬勃，也曾经那样吸引他，我与那个，只是隔了十年的光阴，却被明显贴上了旧爱与新欢的标签。

　　“她很天真，一点小事也能让她感到满足，跟她去购物，抽奖得了一块香皂；带她去吃北京饺子；送她一块20元的电子表，给她买一个土渣儿饼... 她都会欣喜若狂。跟她在一起，我很放松，我可以抽烟抽的屋子里一股烟味，我可以玩通宵麻将，跟朋友拼酒... ”他陶醉在自己的幸福里，满眼的温柔。

　　而我，像所有的黄脸婆一样，精打细算，过问他每一笔开销，买双袜子都要货比三家。我不许他抽烟，禁止他喝酒，更反对他吆三喝四的赌博。

　　“和她在一起，我感觉心跳加速，干什么都充满力量。”他显然已有几分醉意。

　　我打断他：“从此以后，我不再是你的黄脸婆，不再是你不用支付工资的用人。我可以节省为你熨衣服配领带的时间，来打扮自己；我可以节省下为你买衣物的钱，给自己挑几件拿的出手的时装；我可以不用绞尽脑汁地搜索鱼的N种做法，不用讨好你的胃，想吃饭我就做，不想做饭，我可以带女儿去吃快餐；我可以不再担心你抽烟伤了肺，喝酒伤了肝；我不再为你洗吐的一塌糊涂的被单；不用在你醉了酒，睡在街边某个角落时，一边哭一边满大街的找；我可以不用再操心你老家的亲戚今天谁做寿，明天谁娶媳妇，不用再每个月给你爸妈寄生活费；不用每年跟你坐半天的车，提着大包小包走十多里山路，只为陪你父母吃顿年夜饭... 是啊，离婚，真是太好了！”

　　说完这些，我泪如泉涌，而他则楞楞的看着我，我一直都表现的很冷静，可是，一点酒精就把我的内心出卖了。三十多岁的女人，谁不在乎自己经营多年的婚姻？我又笑起来：“离吧，离了看你得意多久，你十分爱她是吧？她也十分爱你是吧？走到一起后，一起生活几年，看你还会不会见到她就心跳加速，她现在能给你的都是十年前我给过你的，你就折腾去吧！等你折腾够了就会发现，你只是把我们走过的路又重复走了一遍而已。” “你醉了？”他有些紧张的看着我。

　　“我没有天真单纯过吗？我没有年轻美丽过吗？我把你送的一只铜戒指、一本书、一枚书签视若珍宝，冒着严寒为你织手套。我也十分爱过，可是走进婚姻，女人的角色就复杂了，在爱的同时，有了很多责任。他不可能再十分专注的爱一个人，她要从这十分爱中分出一分爱公公婆婆，又要从中分出一分来爱自己的父母，还要从中分一分来爱孩子。十分的爱经过婚姻的洗礼，就只剩下了七分。当另一份十分的爱袭击她的幸福时，她就无以抵挡...”

　　最终，我们没有离婚，他改变了主意。他说我清醒的时候没有醉酒的时候理智，也没有醉酒的时候聪明...

在面子书里看到了这么一篇，令我很有感触。这一切仿佛“似曾相识”(只是我没结婚，也没有十年那么久，最终也没有在一起），也令我感觉到幸福不是必然的。

其实在很久很久以前，无论是在自己或别人身上，都得不到安全感。觉得幸福会随时随地在你不知不觉时溜走，永远就是觉得那么不安。甚至还开始对什么都没有信心，就连别人的真心付出我都没办法相信及接受。恐怕最终受伤害的是自己。

朋友啊，现实生活往往都是“估你唔都”的。接受吧！

For the first time, very kind client has also given me a stalk of rose (it's meant for media mums).

Double Celebration, Double Happiness

Mother’s Day has become the “traditional” celebration we practice at home. When I was younger, I remember I will hide in the room for a day, busy decorating my handmade card.

As I grew elder, the personalized card has “transformed” into a lunch/dinner treat. And of course, it will not be me paying. It used to be my father and now my sister. Soon, it will be my responsibility – I can foresee.

Timberland Plays its Part in Answering Earth Day's Call

In Malaysia, Timberland has recognized Earth Day with community service events for 10 years and this year, Timberland Malaysia worked hand-in-hand with The Malaysian Nature Society; which manages the Kuala Selangor Nature Park; in preserving this important piece of natural habitat.

Amongst the core activities for this year's event were mangrove tree planting, mangrove clean up and the repainting of the park’s educational site.

Helms Deep Discovery

For your kind information, Helms Deep is the term our office created for the smelly yet cheap food court in Mid Valley. Its main entrance located at Ground Floor, between Big Apple Donut and the Thai restaurant.

Hemls Deep has plenty salivary food available and a few of my favourite are:

Sajian Pakcik

I heart their nasi goreng kampong with telur dadar

Vanilas
Indian rice
My favourite is the fried bitter gourd and stir fried cabbage

There more stalls at Helms Deep offering economical and delicious lunch. Recently, I discovered another two stalls that I'm placing it into my favourite list.

Yes, it sells only Nasi Lemak and it serves freshly steamed coconut rice. You will be able to see them taking the rich fresh from the steamer and pack it on-the-spot.

At the early stage of its opening, I thought myself: “Cheh, it’s just Nasi Lemak, why do you need the whole stall to sell one item?”

Surprisingly, I’m seeing a lot of customers queuing during lunch hour and particularly long. Finally, out of curiousity, I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be sooooooooo good!

Observe it. Manage to see any difference?

It’s unlike the ordinary nasi lemak whereby it comes with red sambal belacan. The “sambal belacan” served here is made by chili padi, unexpectedly tasty!

Well, this is not the craziest yet. I heard from my sister that there used to be a morning roadside Nasi Lemak stall along Jalan Ampang, served Nasi Lemak with chili sauce. Sounds crazy?

Aunty Yong Pan Mee

A few years ago, I shifted to this crazily hot desert – Cyberjaya. It’s not easy to find a single place to dine in back then, especially Chinese food; not to mention on any decent Chinese food yet. After rounds of searching, we managed to locate a Pan Mee restaurant.

Located at Seri Kembangan, Aunty Yong has started the Pan Mee business not-so-long after I moved in. For your information, Aunty Yong only sells Pan Mee and Yee Mee. If you’re expecting for more options, Aunty Yong might not be your choice.

The Pan Mee flour is not too thick and particularly smooth. With no mushroom and extra sweet potato leaves, Spicy Pan Mee (麻辣板面) is my all-time-favourite. The only dish I will order in every visit without failed. I always like to add a few teaspoons of their homemade chilli into my Pan Mee to add some flavour. Their chilli combines sweet, sour and spicy - another signature “item” of the restaurant.

Seet falls in love with Aunty Yong, I mean the Pan Mee after his first try. We visited Aunty Yong again for lunch today. As usual, I had my Spicy Pan Mee and Seet order the Original Pan Mee (香菇板面) with an additional egg.

Afterwards, we went walking around for digestion after a full meal. However, we ended up eating even more. We had this super yummy Milk Snow Ice, topped with chocolate sauce and chocolate rice. Irresistible!

Lucky Ten Western Food

See, I’m not kidding! I’m seriously craving for cheap western food.

Seet bought me to this western food corner at Bandar Baru Klang that runs by a Chinese family - an open-air concept.

According to the waitress, although the restaurant runs by a Chinese family, but the food prepare are Halal. Hence, all Muslim mates can also dine in.

Grilled Chicken with Herb Butter

The portion is not as huge as I was expected. It’s more like a chick than a chicken. I also felt that the combination of butter and herb don’t really go well.

Look is deceiving. Don't judge a book by its cover.

It doesn't look special from the first glance. However, it is smoothly mashed, perfectly seasoned with salt, pepper and milk. Top with nice brown sauce, this mashed potato can really turn me on.

“Yucks! Longan and milk? Can’t imagine it,” commented Seet.

I understand this can’t be easily well-accepted by everyone. I admit that I have weird taste buds sometimes, not always. I like milk: fresh milk, sea coconut with milk, longan with milk, jelly ice with milk, etc – all kinds!

Therefore, this is definitely my glass of drink - refreshing!

I’ve no idea why am I craving for ＂大件及抵吃＂western food so badly recently. And I came across Buffalo Steakhouse from other bloggers, tempted to try.

Based on our observation, the restaurant runs by two or more families. We’re still playing the guessing game. Any ideas?

Apart from ala-carte menu, they're also offering a very cheap all-day-long set menu, which provide six main course choices (you pick one).

Priced at RM16.90 nett, the set includes:

1. Soup of the day

2. Bread and butter

3. Main course

(Cordon Blue Steak)

(Chicken Chop in Gravy)

4. Drink

5. Dessert

Though it’s just a RM16.90 nett set menu, but they’re very generous by serving huge portion. Small eater can consider of sharing one set meal. Surprisingly as well, they’re quick in serving our food too even when there are quite a number of customers.

Fried Kuey Teow with Duck Egg (鸭蛋炒果条)

Dad bought dinner/supper for himself just now and of course I tumpang makan - Fried Kuey Teow with Duck Egg (鸭蛋炒果条) from Puchong's Medan Selera.

Mom’s myth on Fried Kuey Teow with Duck Egg:
用鸭蛋炒的果条是特别香的
(Direct translation: fried kuey teow with duck egg will have better taste and fragrant)

Believe it or not?

The fried kuey teow that I tried was really good. I’m not sure if they’re famous and good at char kuey teow or it’s the duck egg that make the difference. However, sad thing is I can't manage to taste the difference between chicken egg and duck egg.

Tell me what do you think?

Last Tuesday, dad woke up early to prepare breakfast for me. It was carried to work in a nice bento box.

Just want to thank him for the concern he shows, especially after the unhappy incident happened to me.

Justin Lo Live In Genting 2010

Justin last held his concert in Resorts World Genting in October 2008 to an overwhelming response. I wanted to attend his concert so badly that year. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to for several reasons:

1. I went to Genting a week before his show (that was how eventually I found out the concert).
2. At the same week, I'm flying off to Perth for a family holiday.
3. And I felt sick too!

“Bad timing and regretful,” I thought myself.

Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not a fan of Justin, but I admire his songs. My favourite song is 命硬 (Hard Life) – a must sing K song. What about yours?

Finally, here’s my chance again to catch him live as he will be returning to the Arena of Stars this August. Details as below:

在一个风和日丽的星期日，小孩S和小孩J兴致勃勃决定了要往云顶开始他们一日游的旅程。

两个像大小孩般的傻瓜非常迫不及待。漫长的等待，S和J恨不的立刻就到了明天。

明天终于来临了！小孩S架着新成员－三姨太，然后呢就像保母的带着大姨太，兴奋往山上驶去。两人第一次的云顶之旅，就开始了。

这不是什么豪华旅行团，也没有很多可以尽兴使用的钞票或银票。可是这却再度的在他们两人的生命中画上了一个句号。

你就像这大大的蘑菇，为她遮风挡雨。

The Return of Miss Emo Singapore

Yes, if you didn’t realise, Zoe Leong Yin Mun has been renamed from Miss Singapore to Miss Emo Singapore - because she has been very emo for the past one year.

Moving on, Miss Emo Singaporean came back to Malaysia last week - kononnya wanna clear her unclearable annual leave. A week before she is back, she started to MSN and email us, die-dying wanna eat seafood. Choices between Jalan Alor or Restaurant Tak Fok (得福小厨). She's envy after reading my blog entry about 得福小厨 , simply because she can’t find nice seafood in Singapore (too bad!) and bising us to bring her.

Malaysian practice Malaysian Hospitality and we’re Malaysian (duhh!). We skipped Jalan Alor to avoid being slaughter like a tourist. Hence, our only option left is with 得福小厨. Moreover, they are having promotion currently - order any two dishes and enjoy crab offer at RM20 per kg expect 咸香蟹 at RM21 per kg.

Since I had 咸香蟹 and 奶酪蟹 the last time I visited, we moved on to try 金香蟹 and 酸辣蟹.

Iris and Zoe kept complaining that the crabs’ sizes are pathetic. Sorry lah, this is out of my control. But I admitted that the size is smaller (much more) compared to my last visit. Honestly, I think it’s less than a kg.

Dad: There’s this Nyonya restaurant in Puchong, which is Halal. Maybe we can give it a try? Hmm, let me call friend A and B to get some comments.

I adored white and red are chosen as the theme. It gives me a contemporary yet traditional atmosphere.

A white stairway, decorated with elegant crystal lamp, allowed access to the top floor - an open area.

Now, here comes the F&B.

According to the restaurant manager, their most famous or favourable dishes are:

1. Curry Fish Head
2. Curry Chicken Kapitan
3. Petai Sambal Prawn
4. Penang Butter Prawn

However, amongst the four introduced dishes , we only picked one. Reason being, I don’t eat fish head; I don’t eat petai; butter prawn is too expensive.

我一生中最失望的一天，就是那天。

那天，许多的曾付出的劳力及勤奋，都消失了。

那天，我挣扎的在想，好好的一个人，为什么会这样？

那天，我也很庆幸，得到了解及支持。了解及支持的人，莫过于家人以及他。

在我不开心时，food is the best medicine。所以呢，要逗我稍微开心点，也不是不可能滴。

聪明人选用聪明法，把我带去这家位于金河广场底层的新香港粥面家。

在这里，真的是有童年的回忆。小的时候，家境都不是很好。可以吃到这个，算是premium了。更何况，这里的食物说真的还真的不便宜。所以每次吃的时候，我们都会看好价钱才叫。不然一个不小心是可以吃到百多零及的。

那天，我们就来到了这家粥面家－他说以前时常看到都想试吃，可是就是没机会。今天终于有啦！应该要多谢我吧？

因为都已经脑死了，所以我们就直接选了dinner套餐。不需选，更不用想。

如果我没记错，那套餐应该是大概RM33++包括了：

1. 烧鸭
2. 奶油鸡
3. 炒菜胆
4. 莲藕汤
5. 甜品

当服务员问我们要饭还是面，我们都以为这是包括的，所以我们都叫了面。结果结单时，一碟／碗云吞面kosong竟然是RM4.80。

说真的，不然我都不想要呢。因为事实上，我的胃口也不太好。

另外，我们叫了两杯饮品。我要了杯三色果汁 - 橙，红萝卜，青苹果（RM8.00)，而他呢就叫了杯冻柠蜜（RM7.00)。他其实不知道也没想到他那杯冻柠蜜是那么的贵。天啊，RM7.00一杯柠蜜！到底是用哪国的柠檬和蜜糖啊？

好好吃的鸭鸭！

说句公道话，其实这里的食物还真的满不错。错就错于它的价钱还满昂贵，然后又有所＂隐瞒＂的。一不小心就会把你斩的＂一颈血＂，大家记得要小心哦！

I have the craving for western food this evening, particularly on open-air concept (露天西餐厅). Hence, I consulted my friends, Google, and Facebook for some suggestions.

Among a few suggested places I gathered:

老字号的定义，对你来说是。。

就如这葉合记客家酿豆腐，它已存在了多年，算的上是老字号吗？第一家的葉合记位于Off Jalan Pudu （Berjaya Times Square后面），店铺内的欢迎光临标志还有中文、英文、马来文和日文－四种不同的语言，这证明了他们的顾客还真的是多元种族呢。虽然店铺不是位于大街，可是漆上火红色的店面是难以察觉不到的。

记得从小的时候（就从我有记忆以来），父亲就有带我们一家人去吃了。因为路途遥远的关系，这可不是可以时常吃到的哦！所以每当我有机会吃的时候，都会特别珍惜。从以前的一间简陋店铺直到现在按上了空调的美食馆，葉合记在在吉隆坡真的还算的上数一数二。

葉合记最有名的除了酿豆腐之外，还有逢去必叫的瓦锅老鼠粉及虾米猪肠粉。我最钟情的就是炸得脆脆，香香的虾米。撒在滑嫩嫩的猪肠粉上，再配上自制传统的甜酱与辣酱。真的是超赞！

葉合记成功历史记，除了是从简陋的一间店铺到按上了空调的美食馆之外，他们还在Damansara Uptown开了间分店。虽然那里的人群没吉隆坡的来的多，可是生意真的还不赖哦。住在PJ一带的朋友们，不妨去那里的分行试试看吧。经过了我们的试吃后，觉得两家的質量控制还保持的不错，分别不大。

从以前不会开车、也没有驾驶执照的小妹妹，直到现在考到了驾驶执照、也拥有了自己的汽车的我，可以自己开车与知心好友一起分享这美食了！

Dear Seet’s friends,

As you all are aware of, Seet’s birthday is coming up pretty soon (20th March 2010). We’re planning to throw him a surprise party.

Actually Seet is in the progress of planning himself for a party on 19th March 2010 (Friday). Reason being on the 19th March 2010 is because we have a wedding dinner to attend on his actual birthday date.

So, what’s the surprise? Crowd is the major surprise. Since he’s already planning, we will 将计就计 (go as his planning). I believe he will send invites (in any forms: msn, facebook, sms, face-to-face) when the date is nearer. Hence, his CLOSE friends, REALLY CLOSE FRIENDS please take note (Alarm, Noel, Jenni, Ah Soo, etc etc):

PLEASE SAY NO TO HIM, give excuses like:
1. I planned for a dinner that has been confirmed a month ago.
2. I’m going on an important date with this guy/girl.
3. I need to go outstation.
4. You think.

Okay, maybe 1 of the closest friend can say yes (or else it will look very obvious, right?) but definitely not Alarm! The rest can just tell him: TBC lahhhhh, see how lahhhh, let you know later lahhh (up to your “performance”)! I would say a few friends say yes will do, to give him the disappointment.

Please spread the words around and don’t bocorkan the secret, kay? Oh ya, as for the expenses, sorry guys! I can’t afford the cost, a young girl that just started work and struggling hard.

Since I was really in a budget constraint, I couldn’t figure out a better way to celebrate his birthday besides giving him a real surprise.

Apparently, Seet was planning for a birthday dinner at Zouk Café Bar. Therefore, I thought of just proceed as he has planned but the crowd will be giving him the disappointment at the first place before the rest and I appear to surprise him.

7. Getting people to reach on time.
This would not be easy because it was a Friday and off working hours, jam will be terrible. Thanks to all Seet’s friends who are able to make it on time.

Actually we’re late by about 15 minutes, perhaps?

I updated the store manager from time to time that the dinner might need to postpone to certain time because jam is terrible. Informed and reminded him THOUSAND OF TIMES NOT TO put any reserve signage on my tables and NOT TO MENTION that this is under reservation for 20 pax.

KIND employee went to Seet and the rest, asked: “Are you guys under the reservation of the name xxx for 20 pax?”

“OMG!”

Thanks to smart Iris settled my another "crisis" without Seet suspecting.

Apparently, we wanted to celebrate Miss Singapore – Zoe Leong’s birday as well. But she was late because she landed at KLIA at about 6pm plus the jam. Thus, we postponed her cake appearance until she arrived.

8. Zoe Leong's “crisis” management
Miss Singapore emo and doesn’t wanna come anymore (we assumed that she thought we’re gonna celebrate her birthday as well, which falls on the 21 March). She wasn’t really happy when she knows that we will proceed to cut the cake first. The matter of fact, I actually bought 2 cakes, one each.

It took the force of 3 people before getting her ass here.

The overall of the surprise appearance was quite successful after all the "crisis". Seet and Zoe were happy, I think. The party ends at about 12am instead of 10pm as planned. We all have fun!

Food at Zouk Café Bar is not really great and they were quite slow in serving our food that night (maybe due to the huge crowd). However, it's definitely a good place for friends to chill out. They have nice shots too, I suppose? Sex on the beach and Illusion (tasted like some pandan cake).

An exotic fine dining at Ampang, named as “Best Restaurant in Malaysia”, Tamarind Springs is a superior retreat for city folks.

Simply for this reason, I have to give up my Alice in Wonderland movie tickets that has already pre-booked.

We went in a group of all the heng tais and ji muis (except me, I’m just the vast – for decoration purposes only) last weekend for dinner and were required to walk along a small alleyway led by oil lamps at night. Natural elements like water and fire are used to create a modern yet contemporary Asian settings inspired by Indochina.

We ordered 3-course meal: appetizer, main course and dessert.

The market spreads across the road, making it easy for tourists to get lost as they make their way through the area to check the array of goods.

A seven-level shopping malls that offers a wide range of medium-high end brands.

There are 3 types of meats to choose on:
- Beef
- Chicken
- Pork

I was confused to pick on beef or pork and finally I decided on pork. Grilled with capsicums, onions and pineapples, it added additional flavor to the meat.

Juicy, tender and cheap for that big skewered meat.

9. LiaoNing Gyoza @ China Town

I was disappointed with the Gyoza served here; perhaps I just picked the wrong dish? *Unsure* It was dry and tasteless even when I go with some chili oil.

10. Grilled 油条 @ China Town

This really caught my eyes because we never have this in Malaysia. Typical 油条 is easy to get in Malaysia but not grilled 油条 served with condense milk. I just can’t imagine how sweet and salty can be matched.

However, I die die also would want to give it a try although my stomach is going to burst anytime soon because we had tasted hell a lot of food.

Well, it came out to be good! Another new type of food we had tried.

11. Soya with 油条

Typical Hong Kong style breakfast – 豆浆，油条. However, the soya was cooked with jelly and sago, a new method to drink soya milk. Very interesting!

12. Fried Mussels @ Chatuchak

Fried oyster is available anywhere in Malaysia; however, have you tried fried mussels or prawns? Interesting, isn’t it? Dipped with their homemade chili sauce, this fried mussel definitely tastes fantastic!

13. Green Tea Milk @ Chatuchak

The name, sounds fattening or rather “jelak” (in Malay) to you? But I can guarantee, words can’t describe how good green tea milk actually tasted.

They served it in a very nice cup, the one in green. The drink in front is my Apple Tea.

14. MOS Burger @ Central World Shopping Mall

Seet insisted and must try MOS Burger (a Japanese burger restaurant) since it’s not available in Malaysia. We ordered a Black Pepper Beef Burger set and an additional Spicy MOS Burger.

They served our coke with a very cute glass coaster. In the split second, I really wanted to take it home.

We felt that it is a little bit overpriced for that not-very-big portion. But overall, it tasted well especially the Spicy MOS Burger sauce.

15. Cabbages and Condoms

As one of the most unique restaurants in Metropolitan Bangkok, the Cabbages and Condoms Restaurant has attracted international attention.

This restaurant was highly recommended by one of our colleagues and a Bangkok taxi driver. According to their recommendation, Cabbages and Condoms provide you with a wonderful experience in a cozy atmosphere and served mouth-watering Thai food.

We or maybe just I? Went with high expectation and fortunately it doesn’t disappoint me. Love their Tom Yam Kung, Green Curry Beef, Steamed Fish and Vegetable.

16. Afternoon tea @ The Authors' Lounge, Mandarin Oriental

Afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental was really a big satisfactory. This lounge has old colonial charm and is decorated with white rattan furniture. It is considered to be an ideal place for a peaceful and comforting traditional English afternoon tea with scones, finger sandwiches and cakes and of course only the world’s finest teas or coffee.

Traditional or Mandarin Oriental Thai set
With home-made scones, finger sandwiches, savouries and sweets

We ordered one set each to compare. Still, I preferred traditional English scones.

Taxi in Bangkok is much more cleaner compared to taxi in Malaysia. They are classified according to colors - different taxi company uses different color. Taxi drivers in Bangkok overall are much more friendlier.

To note: Almost all taxis in Bangkok has a NGV in the back boot. So if you're carrying many (4 and above) of luggage, you're advice to take a taxi van.

We had our company CNY dinner last Friday at Bangsar Seafood Garden Restaurant. It was a joined dinner with Paprika. 3 tables were booked and each costs RM888++.

Let’s cut the crap and move on to the food. Below are the menus of the night, it was the ordinary Chinese 10 course meal.

Yee Sang
Jade Abalone and Salmon Yee Sang

Personally, I don’t fancy Yee Sang because it’s usually very sweet. But this is acceptable, not too sweet or oily. But overall, it was just an okay dish. Not even the abalone can “capture” my heart and of course, there isn't a need to mention the salmon because I HATE salmon!

Soup
Double Boiled Soup with Chicken and Dried Seafood

My first thought of this dish was: “It must be herbal soup and I hate herbal!” But thank god it was just normal boiled soup, in fact, it was quite okay. There were a lot of dried seafood such as Chinese mushroom, sea cucumber, scallop and etc. But look at my portion, how come it was empty? Ah, no worries, I actually passed them all to Seet (except scallop) as I don’t enjoy eating them.

It was nothing special. The meat are quite hard, not tender at all.

This is my favourite dish of the night. In fact, prawn has been my all time favourite. It was cooked in Portuguese style – tasted like spicy mayonnaise?

Dried Scallops on Beancurd Ring

From the picture, it looked just an ordinary tofu with broccoli. Wonder where were the dried scallops? It was stuffed inside the tofu, with steamed egg white as the based and egg yolk as the gravy.

Rice
Wok Fried Fragrant Rice with Baby Abalone

Served with small abalones. Unfortunately, everyone was full when it was served. Our stomach can’t accommodate anymore.

Dessert
Chilled Aloe Vera Dessert & Chinese Pancake in combination

Refreshing dessert and nice pancake, not too sweet!

Wong Soon Kee （王信记）Nasi Lemak

I grew up in Subang Jaya and with the famous Wong Soon Kee nasi lemak.

However, since I shifted to a stupidly hot desert – Cyberjaya, I hardly had the chance to eat anymore. I was tempted to tapau the nasi lemak and its super crispy fried chicken today since I’ve been loitering around Subang Jaya to run some errands.

The well-known restaurant Wong Soon Kee is located at Jalan SS 14/2, Subang Jaya. Its operating hours is from 2p.m. until sold out – usually 6 or 7p.m. or maybe even earlier. If you’re interested to give it a try, be there early to avoid disappointment.

I arrived at 2.56p.m. and please look at the queue! This is only half of the queue and believe me, there are more people queued behind me just for the nasi lemak.

It took me 20 minutes of queuing and finally…

I love the combination of the sambal, vege and fried chicken with some curry gravy! *Sorry, too eager to eat, a simple picture just for viewing pleasure =)*

The chicken is well-marinated, tender and juicy. The frying time is just nice, not under-cooked or over-cooked. The chicken skin is too good to describe.

It’s impossible that I can describe its tastiness unless you try it. There is a proverb that always says: “A picture paint a thousand words”. Now, “A plate of nasi lemak speaks a thousand words”.

The portion is huge right? It can be shared for 2 people if you’re a small eater. However, this is too delicious to resist. I’m sorry; I’m too selfish to share this with anybody.

Revisit to Home Cook Fish Head Noodle

As promised, a revisit to Home Cook Fish Head Noodle.

Tried something new today - Seafood CNY Cake a.k.a. Nian Gao in X.O Sauce (X.O酱炒白年糕).

This is so good, highly recommended! I requested for extra spicy but apparently, I should even request for less oil as it's a little too oily - in my opinion.

As for Seet, he ordered suppose-to-be the signature dish of Home Cook Fish Head Noodle – Fish Head Noodle lah, abuthen?!?? I love the soup, specifically.

Another satisfied but weight gainned dinner.

How do I Spent My Federal Territories Day?

I didn’t watch a football match.

I didn’t go to Merdeka Square to watch the launch of the Federal Territories Day celebration.

Instead, Seet and I went for a haircut (sempena Tahun Baru Cina yang akan datang) then we headed off to Alamanda, Putrajaya. Our initial plan was to walk around just to kill time. We planned to have a badminton session at 5p.m. and it was being postponed to 9p.m. because the court near my place was fully booked.

But of course, our most important mission is to hunt for food. We decided to pick Black Canyon Coffee this round as it offers attractive set menus.

I picked one of these ‘Super Value Meal’ that costs RM17.95++, which includes:

Starter Mini Tom Yum
Tom Yum is the most well known Thai dish, easily found on menus all around the world. However, Black Canyon has the very authentic taste of Thailand, even though picture shown isn't that attractive.
MUST TRY!

Main Course BBQ Chicken with Garlic Fried Rice, served with Barbecue Sauce
Chicken, capsicums and cherry tomatoes are skewered on a bamboo stick and grilled. Chicken are very tender and juicy.
Garlic fried rice in rectangle and has a very strong fragrance, tasted just like my mom’s 炸蒜米炒饭.
YUMMY!

Dessert (Half melted and half eaten) Ice Cream
A scoop of ice cream. You may choose between chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Being a huge chocolate fan, of course and no doubt, I will pick chocolate.

Drinks Mexican Iced Coffee
No comment since I don’t take coffee.
This was Seet’s drink and it was served in a cowboy boots. Cute!

I was very impressed that food at Black Canyon is really great. Vote for a return some time soon.

Okay, now! It’s time for a walk. Initially, window shopping is in our list but NOT shopping – shopping. Unfortunately or shall I say fortunately? Esprit Outlet is having 20% off storewide promotion. Very tempting! As expected, I bought 2 pieces of clothes (purely for one same reason – CNY) and same goes to Seet and *yippie* my bill was borne by Seet, thanks dear!

Whatever happened up next, I shall just put them into summary:

Spring Cleaning Part 2

As mentioned in my previous entry, spring cleaning part 2 is today (or shall I say yesterday?). However, it is not just to clean the living hall, but my parents’ room as well. So much work yet so little time.

Sigh.

Before we started, I prepared brunch for my father and sister – Baked Pasta!

Ingredients:
1. Bowties pasta
2. Pasta sauce (Tomato, basil and garlic)
3. Baked pasta sauce
4. Black pepper and lemon tuna
5. Low fat Mozerella cheese
6. Some salt, pepper, oil and butter

These were the other type of baked pasta that I've cooked previously - different ingredients and with different taste.

The cleaning took us about 7 hours then I headed off for a primary school gathering - 6M, Class of 98', SJK(C) Chen Moh.

At the same time, I need to say good bye to the toy duck that has been with me for so many years (maybe about 10 years?) because of its serious "injury" on its' head.

Home Cook Fish Head Noodle

Seet and I went to try this newly opened fish head noodle at Mid Valley tonight (or shall I say last night?). Since I had a not-so-good day, after dealing with my MS Outlook and client, I decided to eat something (although I’m on an extreme diet plan now) to become happier again.

“Arghhhhh…!!!”

Seet ordered Cantonese Style Kuey Teow with Beef（牛肉滑蛋河）and I got myself Fresh Water Prawn Fish Head Noodle（生虾鱼头米粉）that costs me RM16.90.

Although the Cantonese Style Kuey Teow with Beef doesn’t look attractive in the picture, it has its flavour, but but but… it’s kinda salty though. So, the next time if you’re ordering, you may request for less salt and/or oil.

As for my Fresh Water Prawn Fish Head Noodle, there are a medium-sized water prawn and 2 pieces of fish fillets - since I requested for no fish head. It came with some vegetables too! Satisfied but it can be improved.

Our total bill, I think cost us about RM36++. Overall, I would say the food is acceptable, not superb but definitely will consider for a return.

V-Day at Garden Lifestyle Store and Café

Seet and I spotted this lifestyle store and café – Garden at 1-Utama during our CNY shopping spree. In fact, we noticed them quite a while ago. They’re now offering a Cupid & Prosperity of Wealth Valentine Set Dinner Menu, exclusive for 50 couples only.

The café has been operating for quite some time now. However, I don’t have the chance to try it out yet. I love the place very much simply because they picked white as the theme, with a vast array greens and beautiful flowers as decoration. Very much like the garden wedding that I always dream of.

Unfortunately, the valentine set dinner is not as budgeted. Therefore, I shall go there another day for ala-carte menu – since I’m on a diet plan currently by not eating.

2010 CNY Shopping Spree

There goes another year; CNY is just around the corner. So, Seet and I decided to spend a whole day yesterday to do some CNY shopping at 1-Utama.

We arrived as early as 11-ish, because we reckoned that parking will be stupidly jammed at lunch hour. Lucky enough, no jam and managed to find a nice parking spot.

This is the CNY decoration at 1-Utama, 发财猫。The发财猫is spotted everywhere in the mall.

Our first stop, of course, to hunt for food - Breakfasttttt!

Hence, we decided to go Penang Flavours for some light food. Since I’m on a diet plan now, I had only two hardboiled eggs. Looks disgusting but yummy.

Our CNY shopping spree starts up next! Opps, but before that, Seet wants to go to the optical shop to collect his new pairs of glasses (Yes! Pairs, 2 pairs to be exact).

First stop - Pull & Bear. Seet has an idea on what he’s getting for himself, so he was done with selecting pretty quickly. I was browsing around the shop hoping that there will be something that I’m eyeing on. Unfortunately…

I sighed. “Well, it’s ok”, I thought myself.

“There are plenty more shops in 1-Utama.”

To continue shopping, we went to WH, Roxy, Forever 21, Cotton On, Zara, Nichii, some independent boutiques and higher end boutiques. And honestly, I’m quite disappointed, telling myself, in fact to Seet too, “How come I can’t find myself anything?”

Just when I was extremely moody and emotional, I spotted Kitschen. Walked in, picked a few clothes and tried them.

“Whuaaa!”

The queue at the fitting room was super long! Practically, I’m that kind of girl that loves buying without trying, equals to less hassle. But, since I’ve gained so much weight recently, I do not want to take the cannot-fit-in risk.

Picked only 2 out of I-don’t-know-how-many clothes. Not sure if I’m gonna be wearing them for CNY but somehow satisfied because I bought something, FINALLY (Yeahhh!!!!)!

Afterwards, I went to get some CNY cookies for my family. There are a lot of varieties. However, I would say that there are rather pricey though.

As we planned to spend our whole day at 1-Utama, of course, we will not forget to catch a movie. We went for movies instead - The Legion and Tiger WooHoo. I must say Tiger WooHoo is a must watch movie because it is seriously good quality for a local production (Thanks boss for the free movie tickets). *Thumbs up!*

Before movies, I suggested to Seet if we could dinner at Dragon-I. Seet agreed and there we went.

Seet and his 四川酸辣但但面。I'm loving this because it is sour and spicy, very appetizing.

While dinning at Dragon-I, Seet and I discovered a super annoying guy sitting at the table beside us. We both reckoned that we feel like smacking him because of his LYY look. FYI, LYY means 烂有型 or pretentious.

That was how basically we spent our day, paktor-ing and shopping. Enjoyable! Minus the stupid mall with stupid management! They pulled down their gates, blocked our access to the link bridge that connects old wing and new wing. Make us walked all the way from old wing after movie at about 11p.m., crossed at the main road to new wing just to get our car.

But anyway, mission accomplished! These are my achievements for the day.

This is virtually my weekdays’ routine (minus meeting).

Went for a client meeting today, for a proposal presentation that the team and I have been doing since 2 weeks ago – first of my-own-effort proposal with lots of assistance. It went well with positive and negative feedbacks, of course. Not so much to be categorized as a “crisis” yet, still manageable. Phewww…

Upcoming, another proposal presentation on Tuesday *god bless*.

Several things happened this evening:

1. I was “ordered” to back up my documents when I was at a rush to get my work done, leads to frustration. We’re finally, officially swapping from a local network to FH global network, which means time entry. No good!

2. Jess’ panic button was switched on simply for I-don’t-know-how-to-back-up-files. (Across the office) SEET!!!!

3. Pizza for dinner while watching Zombieland in the conference room – syok but movie is quite boring though.

4. Seet and his zombie vs. plant.

5. A not-very-short-phone-call with Ms. Singapore.

We also had a birthday celebration for January birthday babies – to Faz and Bonz, happy belated birthday! Bonz, unfortunately, is on medical leave. But she gets the cake as well.
